This blog is a place to share research, experiences and inspirations around teaching and the world of Early Childhood Education —which I believe includes just about anything and everything creative.

ReFocus

Being away from my home country and living in Europe has brought this question to the forefront of my mind -”what is going on in the field of Early Childhood Education on an International level?”.

Thanks to the internet, I have collected an overwhelming amount of links to websites and blogs that have allowed me to gain some insight into ECE around the world. I have files full of articles, journals and case studies past and present, sitting on my desktop. I am learning and I have a strong desire to share my findings with you – and I will – slowly but surely (All articles, journals and case studies presented on this blog, can be found under “Library”) – I encourage you to do the same.

Allow me to introduce you to my latest find: ReFocus.

ReFocus “is the UK network of early childhood educators, artists and others influenced in their practice by the pre-schools of Reggio Emilia. A nationwide learning community – connecting creative reflective practice and projects and influencing policy development in the UK.

ReFocus publishes a journal, bi-annually, January and September.

Issue 3 contains articles by:
Carlina Rinaldi, Andrea Sully, Ian Lakin and Debi Keyte-Hartland.

“In this edition there is a focus on the role and responsibility of documentation including the processes involved, different techniques and styles, the possible uses and the benefits of making learning visible for educators, children, parents and other professionals. Also book reviews, practical advice, international issues and information on the development of the ReFocus Network.”
